Dr. Johnson is the Medical Director and primary treating physician of Central PA Pain Management. He came to Central Pennsylvania following his attendance at Southeast Missouri State University, Vanderbilit University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee; and, subsequent anesthesiology residency and sub-specialty training in pain management at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Johnson began his anesthesiology and pain management practice at the Altoona Regional Health Center in 1991. In 2001, Dr. Johnson and Tyrone Hospital established the Keystone Headache and Pain Management Center to provide comprehensive pain management services to the ladies and gentlemen presenting at that facility.
As the need for chronic pain management in the region continued to grow a second pain clinic was established with Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring in October 2009. Staffing at these facilities includes Dr. Johnson; his physician associates; assisting clinical staff – including Physician Assistants; a Certified Nurse Practitioner who provides psychological counseling services; registered and practical nurses; and, a clerical support team who work closely with each patient to insure a comprehensive, personalized plan of care is provided for maximum responsiveness and pain relief.
